2021 Top Electric Smoker
The first thing to consider is how much you will be using your electric smoker. If you are planning on smoking meat occasionally, for family gatherings or parties, then a smaller machine with fewer features may suffice. However, if you want to get more serious about your hobby and become an avid pitmaster, upgrading to a larger model with lots of gadgets may be the way to go. It is important to keep in mind that bigger machines will take up more space, so make sure there is room for it in your garage or wherever you plan on storing it. The amount of money invested in an electric smoker can also have some bearing on size choice. For example, buying a cheap no-name brand electric smoker may only give you the option to choose between a small machine and a large one with lots of add-ons, whereas buying from a more reputable brand will offer different sized options in the same price range.
Knowing your means for storage can help narrow down your choices as well. Some people prefer to have their smokers stored right in their garage so it is always at the ready, while others would rather have a separate space for it. If you plan on keeping yours out all of the time, then having one that folds up or has wheels may come in handy when it comes time to relocate it. However, keep in mind that if you do not plan on smoking meat often enough to need your smoker readily, then storing an electric smoker may just take up space.
Most electric smokers come with at least a few bells and whistles such as latches for the door, a temperature gauge, and an automatic shut-off in case of emergencies. A common feature of modern electric smokers is Bluetooth connectivity. Having this option can help you monitor your meat’s temperature from your smartphone while you are away from home, and some models even let you adjust settings through their app. If these and other add-ons sound like they would be useful to you then go for it; however, if simplicity is what you’re after, basic models without all of these features will probably suffice.

With a few minor adjustments this smoker is perfect. First I took the chip tray rack out to let it sit directly on the coils. I flipped a bracket that is over top of the heating element and put it below. Lastly I drilled about 12 very small holes in the chip tray. After making these adjustments this thing started rolling out smoke. Did two whole chickens and they turned out fantastic. For the price point its worth making the few adjustments, highly recommend for any home smoker. Only complaint is that the digital controls are hard to read when in direct sunlight but this is a minor inconvenience.

The product arrived on time and in good shape. Well packed and easy (only 16 screws) to put together. I called service center and the lady was very knowledgeable and easy to speak with. I’ve done ribs and a brisket, with great results. I used my own recipe dry rub and mesquite chips. I thought that it would take a long time to do but the brisket was done in about 6.5 hours and the ribs were done in about 7. Temperature was well maintained, but it is summer. We’ll have to wait for winter to see if the cold weather affects it or not. Right now, I’m very happy though.
