Best Alarm Clocks to Wake Up To

Best Alarm Clocks to Wake Up ToI have been working from home for more than a year now, and the one thing that has been challenging is getting myself out of bed in the morning. I often try to ignore my Alarm Clocks going off, or press snooze a few too many times. After all, there’s nothing like being able to hit snooze and snooze and snooze my way out of getting up in the morning.  It is important to have the right alarm clock for you to use to wake up.

How Alarm Clocks Work

Alarm clocks generally work by playing a loud noise, to the point that it’s guaranteed to be able to wake you up. After all, when we sleep our hearing is at its weakest and most vulnerable, but also one of the senses that has the longest memory. So why do alarm clocks play loud noises in the morning?

Well, part of it is that we become afraid of going back to sleep after every time we wake up. If our alarm clock didn’t wake us up then there’s a chance that we could go back to sleep, and never get out of bed. In this case, an alarm clock would actually make sure that you were drowsy all day by letting you go back to sleep.5 Best Alarms to Wake Up To

Another reason that alarm clocks use loud noises is that certain things can actually affect your body more than others – for example, cool temperatures are great at waking up our bodies because they force us out of deep sleep more quickly. This is why most people wake up faster during the colder winter months than the summer months.

So while loud noises might seem like they’re annoying, it’s actually how alarm clocks are designed to work. So what kinds of things can you do to wake up faster? Let’s take a look at some research done by scientists on this very topic.

Wake Up With Music

A study published in the Journal of Scientific Study in Sleep found that it’s easier to wake up with music than with noises. Why is this? Well, the study found that music can actually change our brainwaves faster than normal noises.

Review:

This is a very affordable and functional alarm clock. Easy to set-up and use. The clock keeps excellent time. I initially set the time referencing an Apple Watch and one week later both devices remain in synch.

The clock is very thin, light, and; fortunately, the LED numeral brightness has three levels – simply; high, medium, and low. The ‘high’ goes way beyond a night light category and rather zaps its way into the airport beacon realm. It’s kind of like the three bears; medium is ‘just right.’ Yes, putting the quips aside for awhile, I can recommend this product based upon its functionality, aesthetic design, and accuracy as a timepiece.

Review:

While set up was more challenging than I had hoped, I do really enjoy this alarm clock. My favorite feature is definitely the projection feature. Who knew I needed this in my life? LOL. But in all seriousness this favorite feature could be even better.

When you are laying in bed, the projection displays the time backwards so you have to think about what time it really says which is not always easy when you are doing it in the middle of the night. But to get it to show up the way I want on the ceiling means I have to face the regular clock to the wall. A simple design change can definitely fix this and make this an awesome alarm clock!
